Welcome Baby Lucas James Wertheim

Baby Lucas James, less than 2 weeks old, a solid 8 plus pounds, and a head full of sleek ebony hair that surely did not come from his red head and blonde haired parents. He is the perfect explanation of any baby cliche-why women end up speaking "baby" even when they say they won't, why all eyes are on the baby rather than the game, and why men's hearts truly soften when it's their turn.                                                            I have known the Wertheim family since the ripe age of 4. After growing up across the street for 15 years of my life with Paul, Rick, and Michael by my side, riding bikes til our butts hurt and playing endless nights of Capture- the- Flag, it is safe to say I consider them family. This simply explains the rush of joy I felt when I met Lucas for the first time. Seeing the unconditional love pouring out of Paul and Sabrina's eyes was indescribable. The utter excitement they exuded as they shared the birth of their son with our family was contagious. These pictures of Paul, Sabrina and Lucas are not just pictures, but a reflection of much more- a reflection of deep love and the authentic beginnings of a new family. I felt honored to be a part of it.

Jacob & Natasha

I have been beyond blessed with an amazing family. My summer at home has been a breath of fresh air, a life giving remedy. A time where I have been able to enjoy my authentic community to it's fullest. Whether that be spending my days soaking up the sun off the shores of Lake Almanor with my oldest friends, or walking down the aisle as a bridesmaid in 3 of my dearest girlfriends' weddings. Whatever I may be doing, let it be known to the world that I am truly and undeservingly blessed. With that being said, I couldn't resist snagging a couple pictures of my adoringly goofy yet skillfully endowed little brother, Jacob, and his stunningly gorgeous girlfriend, Natasha, who carries an inner beauty of quirkiness and genuine kindness that is contagious. It has been pure joy spending time with both of them, learning more about them individually and collectively. The love they have for each other is beyond anything this world can comprehend, and it is evident that they have something truly special. Alas, I shall attempt to capture it!

Courtney & Spencer

For those of you who know me, you could call me an exaggerator. I preface with that before I claim the following- This was one of the easiest photo shoots I have ever done! #notexaggerating. And it is not just because Courtney and Spencer are easily targeted as gorgeous looking people (probably in my top 10 of hottest friends list), but my time with them was full of contagious laughter and comfortable smiles. I have known Courtney since we were in diapers, and I had the pleasure of living with her for a year in San Diego. I was flattered when she asked me to take her and Spencer's Engagement photos.

Jennifer & Taylor

Oh man. Words cannot describe how near and dear these two are to my heart. This engagement photo shoot was my wedding gift to the incredibly stunning Elze couple. I will never forget how much fun we had that afternoon in Granite Bay- traipsing around the back roads of my neighborhood until sunset just snapping shots and laughing til our stomachs hurt. There is no question in my mind that Taylor and Jen carry a deep, selfless, infectious love for each other. If you don't believe me, well...here are pictures to prove it :)

Brayden & Chase

This photo shoot was unexpectedly successful. I was on my way home from work before I showed up to take a few shots of my old co-worker, Beth Kanuik, and her little twin boys. As her friend, I was so excited to see the twins for the first time, but as a photographer, I was nervous for my first baby photo shoot. In the end, I realized it is impossible to take bad pictures of such cute subjects. It almost (I said, almost), got me wanting a little baby of my own.
